Hello Instinct Coder ,
i am making app which connects android to ms msql server 2000 through rest api method. My app is about entering with your login id if it corrects(checks with server) then it allows to enter you and you can search book in database but i am not able to create rest api for that i am so confused now i have watch so many tutorials for that but unable to make it And if i am not not wrong then i have to create api in asp.net right ??
Please can you make at least small tutorial about just connection with ms-sql server and how to get required data with our input and how to search particular data in database and table
And one more Can we use Php instead of .net ?
If you just make login app with api then also it will fine it will really helpful atleast i will get idea how can i  proceed with ms sql server and api level part and next book search level part for my project (we have given condition use ms sql 2000 only ) 🙁
And I found your tutorial about api part and android but it is not with ms sql server thank you you have this communication part if not possible just tell me how can i proceed with it in small mail

Hi
Sorry, something wrong with this QnA plugin, causing me issue to reply you. Fixed now.
I got a little knowledge about PHP, so maybe you need to find somewhere else. But if you fine to follow this tutorial with .Net. Then you could refer to this 2 tutorials, http://instinctcoder.com/how-easy-to-start-with-asp-net-web-api-2-0/. (part1), and to connect to server (part 2) http://instinctcoder.com/how-to-call-asp-net-web-api-from-android-studio/.

I think is quite straight forward for you to setup the server side on how to log in to your server SQL server but is not the direct connect approach. My opinion on not direct connect to SQL server from Android device or any device is mainly because of security concerned because you are open up your SQL port to public.

Let me know if you need any help. Cheers.
